1. GENERAL MATTERS
Solo reserves the right to change this Policy at any time for any reason and will include a notice of any change to this Policy on the Site. By continuing to use the Site you agree to be bound by any such revisions and should therefore periodically visit and print the latest version of this Policy for your records. For your information, the date of the last update to this Policy is posted at the top of this page.
Scope of Policy
This Policy only applies to this Site and does not apply to other companies’ or organizations’ web sites to which we link. You should carefully review the privacy policies of those web sites in order to determine how they treat your personal information.
2. WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM VISITORS
Solo does not collect any personally identifiable information from you unless you voluntarily choose to disclose such information to us.
Personal Information may include your name, street and e-mail address, phone number, credit card number etc. (“Personal Information”). Examples of when we collect some Personal Information include the following:
- Member Account. If you purchase a product or service on the Site for the first time, you will be asked to set up a member account and fill out a profile. You may use this account to keep track of your orders and participate in various services and community forums offered through the Site. Personal Information included on your profile will be used to fulfill your product and/or service orders and purchases.
- Transaction Information. Your Personal Information may be collected and used by us to track transactions conducted on our Site including which products/services you selected and information we require for payment.
- Contests and Sweepstakes and Surveys. You will be asked to disclose Personal Information if you elect to participate in any contests, sweepstakes, surveys that we may offer on the Site from time to time.
Every communication we send you will contain a clearly worded “Unsubscribe” link allowing you to withdraw your permission for future e-mails. This system is automated and must be contacted from the email address you wish to have removed. Permission changes will be honored as soon as possible after receipt. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing. Permission changes will not affect any information which you previously provided to us and which we previously shared with our business partners.
4. COLLECTION OF NON-PERSONAL AGGREGATE DATA
We gather non-personally identifiable information (“Aggregate Data”) with respect to our visitors’ use of the Site to determine the extent to which our visitors use certain parts of the Site, which, in turn, enables us to make the Site as useful as possible. We may provide Aggregate Data about the use of our Site with our business partners.
5. COOKIES, BEACONS, SESSION ID AND IP ADDRESSES
Cookies. We use a technology called “cookies” on the Site. Cookies are pieces of information that are sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive for record-keeping purposes. Cookies collect technical data and identify your operating system, device and session ID. They can also save information you may have previously provided and help us recognize you when you return to the Site.
How Can Disable Cookies? Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can reset your browser to notify you when you’ve received a cookie or, alternatively, to refuse to accept cookies.
Web Beacons. We may use web beacons which allow our partners to place a cookie onto an end-user’s computer when they visit one of our partner sites so that when the end-user visits our Site that cookie data is tracked by our partner so our partner can identify that the end-user achieved a certain milestone. This is a tracking concept used commonly on the Internet, which is also referred to as “pixel tracking.
IP Addresses. We collect and analyze traffic on our Site by keeping track of the IP addresses of our visitors. IP addresses are unique numeric identifiers that are assigned to each computer browser accessing the Internet. An IP address, by itself, cannot identify you personally. However, when combined with other information provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), your IP address can be used to identify the computer originating a message.
6. WHEN WE SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION
Our Affiliates. We may share your Personal Information with our affiliates as well as other companies that Solo becomes affiliated with or subsequently acquires.
Service Providers. Sometimes third party service providers are retained or utilized by Solo and may have access to our visitors’ Personal Information. For example, we contract with a third party who processes credit card payments and must receive personal information to perform its services. Please be aware, while we take step to protect third party use of Personal Information through agreements and restrictions on access to and use of such information, there is no means for us to police the activities of third parties’ use of Personal Information disclosed to them.
7. Disclosure Exceptions
We reserve the right to disclose your Personal Information if we are required to do so by law or we believe that such action is necessary including, without limitation:
- To comply with a legal process, such as a search warrant, subpoena or court order, state or federal law;
- To protect Solo rights and property;
- To investigate reports of visitors providing false or misleading information;
- To protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our Site and/or service;
- To prevent or investigate reports of credit card fraud or unauthorized use; or
- During emergencies, such as when we believe someone’s physical safety is at risk.
Electronic Security. When you provide Personal Information including, without limitation, your credit card number during the check out process, we encrypt the information by using advanced encryption technology known as Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to protect the transfer and storage of your Personal Information.
Physical Security. All Personal Information is restricted in our offices. Employees and contractors are granted access on a need-to-know basis. In addition, the servers on which we store Personal Information are kept in a secure environment. Our main servers are operated from a dedicated Internet hosting facility with industry standard security features. (Discuss)
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, while we follow accepted industry standards and implement reasonable security practices to protect Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
9. ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
How to Correct or Change Your Personal Information. You can access the Personal Information you provided and update it at any point during the account sign up process by navigating to previous pages and making the necessary changes. You may also change your Personal Information by logging into your account and editing the information there.
Editing Your Personal Information. If your Personal Information or email address changes or you want to edit or update your information, you can do so by logging into your account and making edits there, by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling Customer Support at 1-800——–
Implementing Change Request. We will use reasonable efforts to make the changes you requested but it is not always possible to modify database information. In addition, if your Personal Information has been provided to third parties, Solo will not be able to make changes to it. Further, such information is never completely removed from our database due to technical constraints and the fact that we back up our systems. Therefore, you should not expect that all of your Personal Information would be removed from our database in response to your request.
California Residents. California residents have the right to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information (as defined by the California Privacy Act) to third parties for their direct marketing purposes unless we provide them with an ability to exercise choice regarding such disclosures. We comply with this law by providing California residents with the ability to opt-out of, or prospectively withdraw their consent, if they have previously opted-in to, the disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 10. OTHER MATTERS
Third Party Links. Our Site may include links to third party web sites. Please Note: Solo is not responsible for the products/services of third party web sites. When you purchase third party products and/or services from third party web sites, you become their customer and are subject to their privacy policies. We encourage you to review these companies’ privacy policies and only do business with those who adhere to personal information practices with which you are comfortable.
Persons Under 13. This Site is not intended for use by children under 13. Any Site users under the age of 13 must have parental consent emailed to Solo Customer Support at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Special Note to International Users. The Site is hosted in the United States and is intended for and directed to users in the U.S. If you access the Site from an international location with laws or regulations governing personal data collection, use, and disclosure that differ from U.S. laws, please be advised that through your continued use of the Site, which is governed by U.S. law and this Policy, you are transferring your Personal Information to the U.S., and you consent to that transfer.
Sale of Assets. If Solo and/or its affiliates or subsidiaries are ever sold, acquired, merged, liquidated, reorganized, or otherwise transferred, we reserve the right to transfer our databases, together with any Personal Information contained therein, to a third-party acquiring Solo asset. If we do so, we will place a notice of the sale on the Site homepage, with information about how to change your privacy preferences.
